Abstract

Mental health means both the absence of mental disorders and the presence of
well-being and is a hot topic in competitive sports. In the webinar, we will look at
the well-being aspect of mental health and hear from two speakers. In the first
presentation, Leah Ferguson will share her research on self-compassion and wellbeing
in competitive athletes. The second speaker will be Michael Schmid. He will
highlight aspects of post-career well-being and identity. Participants will have the
opportunity to ask questions following the presentations.
