Webinars 2022

The aim of the “Sportwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft der Schweiz” (SGS) / “société suisse des sciences du sport” (4S) is to promote and develop all aspects of sports science in Switzerland. According to its statutes, the SGS/4S pursues the following goals (among others):

  • To promote research activities in Switzerland through professional, interdisciplinary and inter-institutional exchange.
  • The SGS/4S pursues the goal of coordinating teaching and research. The SGS/4S aims to promote cooperation across institutions.

For this reason, the SGS/4S will offer further opportunities for cooperation and continuing education. Through the planned webinars, the SGS/4S and the organizers will gain increased national as well as international visibility. At the same time, the webinars will offer further opportunities for continuing education in various areas of sports science. The SGS/4S therefore aims to hold up to six webinars per year. These webinars will be held "under the patronage" of the SGS/4S committee with members of the SGS/4S organizing the webinars. The delegation of the organization to the members of the SGS/4S ensures that all interests of sports scientists in Switzerland will be covered. The SGS/4S will financially support the webinars enabling organizers to invite international speakers with high renommée.

The duration of each a webinar should be approx. 2-4 hours. Each webinar will deal with one main topic, which should be approached from different perspectives. The SGS/4S will provide 500 Swiss francs per webinar enabling to attract international experts. In order to receive financial support, the organizers must be registered as members of the SGS/4S. Another condition is that at least two institutions from Switzerland organize one webinar. We aim to cover as many areas of sports science as possible each year. The webinars are intended to provide an opportunity for further continuing education and knowledge enhancement. For this reason, online transmission is obligatory, even if there should be an on-site event.
